David Wong as the founding pastor. Sunday attendance gradually grew to about 40 people by 1988. Many of them were Cornell students. Purchased the church building located at 1462 Slaterville Rd., Ithaca Attendance continued to grow and soon reached the building's seating capacity of 80 people. In July, 1997 moved into the current building located at 429 Mitchell St., Ithaca, which is within 10 minutes walking distance from Collegetown of Cornell University. To ensure that doctrine purity of the church will be maintained in the future, the church joined the affiliation of Evangelical Free Churches of America in October, 1997. Attendance continued to grow. New ministries were developed. Purchased the house next to the church building and relocated the children Sunday School classes and church office to the house (425 Mitchell) at the end of June, 2000. After 17 years of holding only one worship service with primarily Chinese-speaking members (Mandarin or Cantonese), an English worship service was added on August 20, 2000.
